Jazz Studies
Jazz Studies’ curriculum of Musical Praxis Conservatory is structured in such a way as to provide the student with a complete knowledge, understanding, and practical experience of jazz music, at a high level.
Special emphasis is given to the balancing of the academic and practical approach of teaching / apprenticeship, as well as to the coordination of courses, in terms of material and teaching methodology, so that the program has balance, homogeneity and effectiveness.
The teaching team of the department is in constant creative collaboration, in order to analyze the learning profile of each student / student group and to coordinate / shape the educational process regarding the particularities that characterize each student / student group.
All the teachers of the department have a rich active presence in the jazz music scene, as well as many years of teaching experience. Love and dedication to jazz and its teaching, desire for continuous development, creative approach to teaching, interactivity, are some of the values that determine the teaching profile of all teachers in the department.
Our goal, through the thorough theoretical and practical knowledge of the evolution of jazz (from the first to the modern music currents), the global musical knowledge (beyond the limits of the main instrument) and the creative and original approach of improvisation, the student to develop into a complete artist, having the opportunity to develop with quality and validity his personal “voice” within the idiom of jazz.
