Virginia Fragkoulatzi
Virginia Frangoulatzi teaches Modern Song, at Musical Praxis Conservatory.
Studies
Virginia Frangoulatzi was born in Athens in the summer of 1986.
She is a graduate of the Music Department of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Her singing career began at the age of eight, with her participation first in traditional and modern music choirs and then in the choirs and ensembles of the Music School of Ilio, from where she graduated in 2004. Then she attended, now professional, lessons with Karen Solomon (2005-2008) and Lia Georgakopoulou (2007-2015) in classical and modern song obtaining the Diploma in Popular Vocals & Music Theater (DipLCM – London College of Music / West London University).
She attended the two-year program for teachers (anatomy, pedagogy, ear training, voice techniques, music history, ensembles, etc.) with George Argyropoulos and Lia Georgakopoulou at the Conservatory of Music, from where she graduated with an Associate in Teaching Vocals (ALCM – London College of Music / West London University).
She has attended seminars on the art of voice (Robert Bicknell, Sheila Cooper, Shelley Burns, Robert Lunte, Voice and Swallowing Center Athens, etc.).
In 2006 she graduated with a degree in advanced theory from Nikos Panagiotakis (Conservatory of Music Practice) and has attended piano lessons with Louana Ioannou and flute with Anna Theodoratou and Iwona Glinka for about a decade.
Educational Activity
She has been teaching modern song for a decade in conservatories inside and outside Attica (Music Practice Conservatory, MusicFor, Diesi Music Workshop, Kalamata Municipal Conservatory, Marsyas – Chalkida Conservatory, MusicIs Education).
Professional Activity
She was the front woman of Missing Case (funk / rock / soul), Mama Knows Better (soul / blues) and Groove Therapist. In 2012 he joined the team of backing vocals under the direction of Marina Satti, in a charity concert at the Herodeion with Mario Frangoulis and the orchestra of the Municipality of Athens. In the same year, together with Marina Satti and Penelope Tzanetaki, she participated in the Soul Station Band of Dimitris Kalantzis at the Pallas and at the Melodrama Festival (2012) in Poland with Greek and foreign repertoire under the direction of Lia “Hide” Georgakopoulou and Panagiotis Krampis.
He is a member of the Polyphonic ensemble Fones under the direction of Marina Satti, with appearances at the Herodeion (Nikos Kypourgos, Estudiantina), the Athens Concert Hall (TEDx, Megaron Garden), ERT (SummERTime), the Thission Theater, the Gazarte with Pavlos Pavlidis, the Terrace of Phoebus Delivorias etc. presenting the music of the world. They have lent their voices in the compilations of the songs of the movies “Vaiana” and “Beauty and the Beast”. He is also a member of the modern Dreamy Whispers polyphonic band.
For the last 3 years she has been “dressing” with her voice songs from Disney animated series at the Sierra Post as well as the music brand of the well-known company Haribo.
The academic year 2014-2015 participated in the play “Shrek: The Musical” at the National Theater, directed by Angelos Mentis, where he had the role of Dracaena, among others.
